Instead of sticking with their usual sun-kissed glows, young starlets are pushing the boundaries and trying new, right-off-the-runway makeup trends. Case in point: Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale, both alums of Disney's High School Musical, opted for dramatic blush to highlight the apples of their cheeks.
Ashley opted for a candy-cute image by swiping on a coat of cotton candy-pink lipstick and gloss, but the rest of her hair and makeup styling suggest California surfer chic. With thick black liner defining her top and bottom lash lines, she effectively brings attention to her eyes, which are framed by her shaped-to-perfection brows. Her twisted and tousled hair complete her relatable look, while her flushed cheeks add a finishing flourish to her sun-kissed skin.
Vanessa, on the other hand, left her wholesome Disney image in the dust by wearing striking makeup inspired by the glamour of Old Hollywood. Her deep plum eyeshadow brings out the honey hue in her brown eyes, while thick black lower lashes make them appear larger. A magenta lip color worked perfectly with her look and melted seamlessly into the darker pink color sweeping her cheekbones.

Among the nominees are Demi Lovato, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, iCarly, Gossip Girl, Starstruck, Emma Watson, Zac Efron, Selena Gomez and the Scene and Vanessa Hudgens.
New series Hellcats and Pretty Little Liars also got nods!
Voting for the 2011 People's Choice Awards starts TODAY until December 7th, except for "Favorite New TV Drama" and "Favorite New TV Comedy", which will remain open for voting until the night of show.
The 2011 People's Choice Awards will air live from the Nokia Theater L.A. Live on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 @ 9PM ET/PT on CBS.

She’s always up for a high-profile appearance, and last night (July 28) Ashley Tisdale was spotted at the CBS, CW and Showtime Summer Press Tour Party.
The “High School Musical” babe was all smiles as she arrived at The Tent in Beverly Hills, sporting a white and silver getup with funky heels.
Tizzie showed up to promote her brand new show “Hellcats,” set to debut this fall on the CW Network.
And it sounds like Ashley has been a busy girl as of late- she tweeted, “I'm home!!!!! Yay! So excited to see my family and my man ;)”

The star of the upcoming Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure turns 25 TODAY (July 2nd)!
In years passed, Ashley and her family always make an annual trip to Hawaii but we're unsure of Ashley's plans this year since she's still in Toronto filming.
But we do know that big sis Jennifer and niece Mikayla are planning to visit. That should make her day!

A coming-of-age drama about a young pre-law student, Marti (Aly Michalka) whose world is turned upside-down when she loses her scholarship and has to join the college's competitive cheerleading team.
